OK so I'm thinking of doing this mod in a n/a Tib Look here!
What I wanted from you guys was an idea of what gauges to put in. I have an oil press gauge to go in but need help to decide what other gauge I should put in. My thoughts were Vac, a/f, volts, or amps.
Any thoughts?

I would make the second one an Air/Fuel gauge... I'd also modify TibbyTib's design (sweet as it is fing02.gif ) to also house a small shift light, like in the middle or something.

id use an A/F gauge but you shouldnt have to worry about AF too much if your not moddifying your fuel maps,
or running any huge type of mod.

the one that would prob. benifet you the most, if your lightly-mildly modding would be the volts since your A/F wont be doing much diff. from stock.

i like the shift light idea.

oil temp is good... trans temp is VERY good if you have an auto.. EGT (exhaust Gas Temp) is also good if you are planning on tuning the car (colder is rich, hotter is lean)

Personally... without boosting.. I would go: oil Pressure, Oil Temp, and voltage..

I recommend AGAINST Amperage... do you really want that much current inside your car? Typically they take a direct tap from between the battery and the starter.. and ALL the amperage stored in the battery and made by the alternator will pass through it.. if you get a short, you are going to know it in a real hurry

Thanks guys, & I mite look at the shift lite idea OZ fing02.gif
Here's the story, just to fill u in. I'm doing a job for a mate and he wants to give me his 2 old (still like new) gauges as payment. 1 is oil pressure (that I'll def use) the other is boost/vac (which in my car will act as vac only). I'll prolly put these 2 in (b/c the price is rite) as the only 1 that I really want is oil press & the b/v will prolly confuse ppl & make them think I have boost wink1.gif

You know you can get those basic A/F gauges on ebay.com.au for less than $50 sometimes. I was going to get one but then I thought cash'd be better spent on Airborne's cams & reflash... Saving for those now cool.gif

Yeah I know I can get cheap gauges, but these are good quality and both match, so I'll prolly just go with these. Also as said, I can't change the a/f so the gauge wouldn't be much use. Volts would prolly be my choice, but then for the job to look right I would need to get the matching gauge and I don't want to spend the $$.
