Reason people have so many problems is because their turbos arent tuned

Theres betas out there that are happily running boost

If you do things the RIGHT way and dont half ass anything... youll be ok
The only problems youll be facing is traction

But i said it before... get a GSX

AWD = traction

FWD = No traction on 1st and 2nd gear once you become insane (passed the 220whp zone)

Jaws, you got a dyno for a Talon tsi or a gsx? I just curious smile.gif

HE-MAN do a little research on boosting the BETA. You will be happy what you find.

And I would have bought a Talon Tsi if they had made a 2000 model and it did not look gay.

GSXs suck smile.gif

Right now if you want AWD and turbo, its either Talon or WRX. I would take the wrx, and pop in the aftermakret close ration 6spd smile.gif

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>JAWS 021:

I have heard of the crank giving out somewhere around 220whp-250whp in eclipses... but im not sure about that 17's</div>You are partially right but this only applies to the second gen. DSM's. They suffer from crankwalk (especially 95's). That's why I prefer 1st gen. They are not prettier than the 2G but they are much more robust and cheaper. They even come with a bigger turbo than the wussy T25 on the 2G. smile.gif

Say screw it and get the Galant VR-4

All Wheel drive, and the Eclipse motor with the advantage of 4 doors.

most rice boys don't know about them and they can be had cheaply sometimes, cuz guys want the sexy looking eclipse rather than the booring 4 door....but the 4 door is a total sleeper. Especially if you leave the exterior stock and remove the VR-4 logo...

Same Eclipse engine and tranny/drivetrain...but 4 doors!

Get a '99 Cavalier Z24 or Sunfire GT and buy the new factory supercharger kit they just came out for it. 4psi of boost, 180hp...kind weak for $4,000.

I would go Talson Tsi...there are so many Eclispes out there.

"eclipse turbo's aren't that good be better off buying a new tiburon GT or eclipse GT or GT-S the tiburon is cheaper but also has a lil less hp" what the hell were you thinking...buy a eclipse gt? you must have ment gsx.....anyways, i have a 90 talon tsiawd, and while it is older, the engines are actually better. i can honestly say that i never lost a race in that car. the new tibbys are at 181hp, the 2G DSMs are at 190hp w urbo. a tibby witha turbo capable holding 400hp is reasonable, no,the turbo will not give you 400hp but it will stand up to the challenge. stay away from the new eclipses, mitsu dropped the turbo, dropped the awd tranny, and ended a car that had just started to show its potential. no one should ever get a new eclipse, stick with the tibby as the after market support will go up and prices will drop. the 1-2G'DSMs were great car but if you have skill , you can beat em with your tibby. my advice, save up and do other stuff, wait for a price drop, dont buy headers or a new intake unless you plan of throwing them away when you get the turbo kit(the kit will come with a exhaust manifold and maybe the new intake) keep us updated as to what you do
