Gas Pedal Squeeking ?!
#1
Hello,
There is my annoying problem: When it is very cold inside the car, the gas pedal squeal each time that i lightly press on it. The squealing appears when the pedal is released, not pressed. I try to grease the spring, nothing. The only time it stops is when the cabin is warm up. The sound can be compared to leather to leather noise lmao.gif
Any ideas ?

you have to take the pedal out. Its easy, but you gotts be careful. Its clipped to the throttle cable. Its tight but dooable. Once pedal is out there is a spring clipp. Its likely rusted or needs to be regreased. You can buy all purpose grease from auto part store.

drewinator: yes you can say that, it could be the same as per you have the model car that i have.
HyundaiKitCoupe: Yes, i did grease the spring clip as you mentionned, but i didn't remove the pedal. It is very difficult to see the spring clip since it is located in the inner right side of the pedal, i bang my head so many times chairshot.gif It did help for a while, like 1-2 days, then the noise restart. I wish i can remove that spring to see the condition and grease it good.... i can't find any instructions at hmaservice.com.

hahaha i did too, soo much. i'm 6ft4.
are you certain that is where the noise is coming from? is the spring rusted? your problem could be elsewhere and more serious because what would heat have to do with it...
you mention it sounds like leather, i did a google search, one thing that came up is it could be coming from your rotors/pads. when you release the gas the car is deccelerating so check your rotors to see if one of them looks warped, or has a texture in it.
