I was looking for any info on these just for fun I don't think i'd really get one. (unless they are some super secret performance part)
It seems these are mostly for racing and the plexiglass is only there for protection while driving around to get to the track or on the trailer or whatever.
I believe from what I understand the plexiglass is removed at the track when thay are ready to race.
I would think with the big box design the air wouldn't flow very well unless it was being pushed in while you are at high speed and not just driving from light to light in town or to the store.
But thats all I could really find not any real actual performance enhancement.

i highly doubt these are actually made for performance.. they seem to only be made to look like and intercooler, for all the cheap ass kids who want that intercooler look.. the reason all the performance filters are cones, is for the best flow of air into the intake..
those interfoolers will probably flow like absolute SHIT.. the air is being forced to the back of the interfooler, then being sucked up into the IM as opposed to the air being pushed and sucked right up and inline with the piping on like an AEM.
interfoolers are crap. theres no benifet to having one of those.
the reasoning for the hyundai race car having that type of intake is simple tho. if it had something like an AEM and it was jumping around on a rally track, there would be a good chance of damaging the intake.
EDIT: i HIGHLY doubt that you will find ANY serious drag car with one of these piece of crap intake designs (interfooler)

that is not and interfooler... look at where it sits. Once the hood is closed you wouldn't be able to see it at all.
Look at the shape of that intake housing. It is not sqaured off it funels into the TB
