Not sure if i have this in the right spot or not. I was getting my car inspected last week and was told and showed that i have a small leak through my flexpipe. I asked them if they could do it and was toldthat i have to take it to an exhaust shop. But when i looked underneath it looks like it's just 4 bolts and that's it. Has anyone here done it themselves? I don't see why it has to be taken to a shop for just 4 bolts?

Needs to be welded.

If its in the flex pipe itself you will probably need to replace it.

Buy bolts when you buy the pipe. They have a tendency to get the bolts & nuts rusted solid together.

I have a 5 foot breaker bar I use for exhaust bolts, if that tells you how badly the can get stuck.

I'm assuming you're referring to the OEM flex pipe? you can either cut the old flex pipe off and weld on a new one, or replace the whole section - which is attached using bolts.

We dont know where its leaking. If its in the pipe, you could try welding it. If its the flex pipe itself, it cannot be welded. It would need to be replaced as a unit or weld a new one in as mentioned.

yeah if it needs welded anywhere you'll need to go to a shop unless you or a buddy can weld. if you decide to try yourself though i wish you good luck, i hate exhaust work

I HATE exhaust work. Therefore I'd take it to a shop.

If they price you something ridiculous though...then I'd do it myself.
