of the two hoses on the right hand side of the engine. It's the left one. It's got a covering on it, u pull that back, unclip the hose, pull it off, get a wrench, unscrew it. Put the new one on and put everything back.
in the top picture, the line is washed out, it says PCV valve and directly to the right is the PCV valve.

The PCV valve screws into the back side of the cylinder head cover and a small hose connects it to the surge tank of the intake manifold.

You can't miss it. There's nothing else it could be.
Test the plunger. If the plunger works and it's not fouled, no need to replace. But replacing is cheap peace of mind I guess. And you feel like you've done something useful. Sort of like a 3k mile oil change. wink1.gif

The PCV valve is pretty much on the top back of the valve cover. It's a small tube going from the valve cover (on the right side, about 2 inches back from the spark plug cover, and about 3 inches from the right side of the valve cover) to the intake manifold.
Which way does the air flow from that? From the valve cover to the IM, or from the IM to the valve cover??

Positive Crank Ventilation. From the crank to valve cover to the manifold. It can't go the other way. It's a check valve. It blocks air flow from going from manifold to valves. But if it clogs up it causes idle bog because the air has nowhere to go.

I ran by Autozone today and picked one up for $2.50. I got home, pulled out my old one and shook it to see if the internals moved....completely stuck.
I put the new one in and it idles so much smoother... thats the best difference $2.50 ever got me, lol.

Yeah I noticed this too, my exhaust sounds deeper as well...though I might be imagining things...
Well, I guess I'm not imagining things. A couple of friends noticed it too...sweet
