Finally- My Supertech Engine Details

seriously, $5800 for 200whp IS BLEH ... the engine isnt bleh..the cost for only 200whp is bleh ....... you are gonna spend that much so that lightly modded rsx-s's, celica GTS's, cobalts, ion redlines, wrx's, new civic si's etc can still beat you? dude.... get a nice clean turbo setup with 8.5:1 pistons for way less than $5800 and you could easily have reliable 200-230whp

Why not buy a beta engine in korea, have a shop IN KOREA port polish and balance it completely, then send it to you and you can put your own N/A bolt ons on.
Consult Rick, you can achieve the same 200hp mark and spend like $4k I think?
I trust the Koreans more than Supertech when it comes to Tiburons.

Screwdriver, is the setup you listed in your first post complete? You would still need a new clutch/pressure plate and a lightened flywheel while you're in there. You would also benefit from all lightened pullies, along with a lightened crank, and balanced everything. A set of ARP rod bolts would also help.

Then buy yourself a used trans am or camaro...
I really don't like the idea of you wasting $6000 for 170whp. It's just not worth it IMO. You can get a turbo kit for 2-3 thousand and have the same power. With $6000 you can be making close to 300whp with low compressions pistons and that same turbo kit...

Nah...I don't like those cars.
Like I said, my budget is $4-5k. For that I'd want something fast but more importantly, reliable. The supertech engine would be both.
The turbo would still be a good option if I can source the kit from a reputed seller like Rick for a good price and have a local shop build it.

Like i said earlier, the turbo would be the best way to go. You would be able to re sell the parts. Is supertech warranting their motor. If not, then if you are going to be beating on the car, things will go on it and if its not warrantied it doesnt make sense.
