Hey Folks,
I have picked up a spare Beta I engine. I am planning on rebuilding the engine and aiming for at least 400whp, ultimately 450whp+.

As of right now, I have decided on the following parts, I will add more as I decide on them. I still have quite a bit of research to do. Using this thread to keep track of all my information and any suggestions you guys and gals may have, Thanks smile.gif

Engine Parts
ARP Studs
CP Pistons: 82.5mm, +.020/0.5mm, 8.8:1
Pauter Rods: 4340 Billet Rods
Knife-Edge Crank
Ferrea Competition Valves +1mm Oversize
Ferrea Valve Springs
Ferrea Titanium Retainer
Cams: TBD

Turbo Parts
Garrett Turbo GT3582R

Transmission Parts
Quaife LSD

& More.

It starts here

So where did you get it from? And how much was it. Just curious as I'm from ontario as well, and beta's around here are 450+$... damn idiots.

Ericy > Definitely a standalone, not sure yet. Doing some reading on the MS and the GReddy. No definite answer right now.

tanc > $250 ABE Autowreckers in Bowmanville. I used car-parts.com to find the cheapest one i could find in all of Ontario and then narrowed it to what was close to me.

you should add a good port job to your head
knife edged crank, won't harm, but not needed
for the rods i'd go for Crower, no need to notch the bottom of the cylinder bores, and lighter,i'm having a few set made if you need some
for the cams i'd say something in the area of 264 will be good
gt35r will have a bit of lag but depends on what you intend to do with hte car did you look at the gt3082R ?
CP pistons are good, but it might be easier and cheaper to get some wiseco
valves are a good idea, but i'm not sure they're needed for your power level

don't forget to add VERY good machine work to the head and engine, a good balance job will also help

Good luck with that. How did the tib handle with an extra motor in the back?

Take lots of pics!
