Those are some good replies... I also have used the flush with no trouble. Just wondered about the residuals. As for a filthy old neglegted engine, I agree..Pull the pan afterward to get the big chunks out before they get to the pump.

Next question: Gunk is just simple 'distilled petroleum' (probably kerosene).. What is SeaFoam made of? Is it different? Better?

Pretty much any petroleum based solvent will work, but you're more likely to not blow up your engine wink1.gif with one labeled for the purpose. Unless I'm missing something, results should be similar regardless of brand.
