Ok this is seriously pissing me off now. I have no idea what is going on, just guesses and everything I try is not working.

First off you need to know my electrical wiring and what I have.

0ga-2(4ga)-8(8ga)
1. 300.4 amp
2. 400.4 amp
3. 800.2 amp
4. empty as of now

5. airtank pressure switch
6. switchbox/main power to compressor
7. LCD screen
8. Power inverter/neons

I also have HID's
Raizin Volt Stabilizer
Viper Alarm WITH Proximity sensor
New Ohio Gen 160a Alternator

OK HERE IS THE PROBLEM
When I have the car on and I decide to turn the compressor on to get air, I usually have nothing else running like the system, screen, etc. because of the draw with it on.
Since I just got the new alt. I decided to test it out and I was on the highway with the compressor running and the system on (just not really loud) and I watched my two caps to see the voltage and it was still at 13.7 on the highway with everything on.
After turning the compressor off, my UP switches didn't work. My DOWN switches worked fine but not the UP. Also when I tried to turn the compressor back on my radar detector was cutting off and on really quick like it was loosing power and getting it back all in one second.
This has happened before so I never ran with everything on but I just got the new alt and thought id try it again.
Why would this be happening? Is the draw to much that it would cut the power from some of the switches (doesnt make any sense)

How could the draw of the compressor affect anything else electrical while it is on or off? I'm not familiar with the electrical system in the tib so i need help

MERGED

I also think one of my HID lights is going out. Could this cause extra draw?
Is there some type of restrictor for the alternator?
I have a 100a fuse for the alternator that I haven't change yet.

It sounds like a grounding problem. THe voltage is backfeeding

I'd go back and check all the grounds. If something isn't grounding it'll backfeed until it finds another one, screwing with all your electronics.

thats what i'll do. i guess i have to check it all.

i disconnected the battery tonight to also see if i have a draw.

tom if i connect the battery and it works fine i know there is a constant draw/short.

if it doesnt then i know i need a new battery.

Just remember voltage always takes the path of least resistance
