Hey guys. My black RD1/2 has always worked fine in regards to indicator lights and what not. I just got it back on the road and I'm tuning it up again, and I noticed the E brake light stays on, even when the trigger isn't plugged in, or when the handle is down. So any ideas what to check? Thanks all.

might be air in the brake system. try beleeding all 4 corners and top off the mc.

It could be indicating a low brake fluid level. That light is for any issues with the braking system not just an indicator of when the parking brake is engaged.

Yeah the switch on the bottom of the brake handle pushes in I believe when the handle is down, so... trigger. I'll check all sides, and bleed. I have to pull all the parts off my dead RD1 with D/S rotors and swap em onto mine. I'm trying to do new tires, new knuckles, new control arm ends, and rotors and pads all around before a front alignment. Right now my car has SUPER shot bearings, bad hubs, bad control arm ends, a dead strut in my front right coilover, and stock 11 year old rotors.

I'm sure you guys are right about the fluid levels, which is prolly why the light. I always thought it was just for the E brake handle, and the stupid alternator dying issue. Thanks guys!

It would surprise me if the switch has more than 2 wires... and switches can fail. Test the switch itself also.
