I got a quote from a local exhaust shop and they said they could do a 3inch dual exhaust with glass packs for a reasonable price. Are the duals worth it or shoud i try to get a better cat back exhaust? Thanks

LOL, a three inch diameter dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder is crazy. Youd have to be pushing a crap load of boost to need 3 inches in the first place, let alone 3 inches each pipe on a dual exhaust.
First, what diameter piping did they say they were going to run before the split? Did they say where they were going to go from 1 pipe to 2? because remember unless you fabricate your own header that only combines two cylinders pulses in its pipes, (which ive never seen on a tib) its a fake dual exhaust.
Why do you want a dual exhaust? unless you have a kit that has the cutouts for a dual exhaust and you cant stand the way it looks without two tips, it doesnt make sense to have two exhausts and youd be better off with one 2.25 inch exhaust if your N/A and 2.5 if your running a low to mid range boost application, and 3.0 if your running boost in excess of 17 pounds. But im assuming since your asking your n/a, so go 2.25, high flow cat, good muffler, and youll be satisfied with the power and the sound.

dont even go that big
2.5 inch exhaust with a 28 inch glass pack is what i have. and i lost power after about 5600 rpm
now that i have the air ram intake manifold the power is back, but i may have some fuel issues now, i want to adjust the fuel now, so this month im gonna get the SAFC hooked up and tuned, hopefully the ECU doesnt relearn itself like ive heard it does.

Like the other guys said. You really only need to use a 2.25" exhaust for an N/A tuned car...Myself, I'm doing the dual setup at the rear just cause I have the Cuda bodykit. I've heard you will loose a bit of power, but it's not that noticable. More or less it's only for looks. cool.gif
