Thanks for your help everyone! Replaced two fuses in the engine fuse box and everything works just fine. Also replaced the fuse for the power mirrors and they work also. cost me not even $10 at the garage down the road t buy the parts and everything was put in effortlessly.

The fuses you replaced, did they look fine?

A note to add based on Redz reply: I have been seeing more and mroe fuses lately that look perfectly fine but are blown. There are actually different quality of fuses and I have noticed this a lot in cheaper brands. Just a heads up when testing. I even had one that I could test the top with my test light and it tested out fine but when I tested spade to spade, it was blown. Still no visible breakage.

Yeah, first time I ran into this was when i still lived in Kansas, like in 2001 if I remember right. Fuse tested fine, but was bad. There was a tiny mark on the plastic after I replaced it, like a black speck on the top, but the fuse was complete.

The two i replaced were busted completely. Although! Last night after returning home as soon as my sister shut the passenger door all the same lights died again! Flush.gif Upon further inspection I realized that the fuses I had bought were rather flimsy and actually had blown again. I returned to the garage today and bought some heftier fuses and they've been working fine all day today. I bought a 25 pack just in case this is a recurring problem, and so I won't have to go without lights before I can return to the dealership to get it checked out. Possibly a shortage, possibly a terribly cheap fuse.

Denied! I've found the exact fuse of the problem site. It's the left side tail light fuse in the engine bay fusebox. Now whenever I try to replace a fuse it sparks and dies before I can even run to turn the head lights on to see if they work... Shortage? I'm gonna take it to the dealership today because I'm still under warranty, so HOPEFULLY this all gets resolved within a day or two's time.

yup, you got a short somewhere. Check the wiring near the bulb back there as far forward as you can. See if it is rubbing on metal somewhere or is cut through.

Now if i find the short myself is there anything I could do as a DIY to fix it, saving me a 45 minute drive to the dealership this afternoon. I apologize for not looking in the DIY first, but if you could refer me to a post you think is helpful that would mean buckets of awesomeness to me.

Gah. I cannot find the short myself, and I'm not about to take all the driver side panels off to find it, so the dealership booked me for Wednesday and everything is covered under warranty. Huzzah laugh.gif

What kind of warranty do you have? I'm assuming you are the second owner, in which case the Hyundai warranty is cut to 6 year/60k.

Could always be an extended or third party. There are all kinds of warranties.
