Supposidly it is better for your engine, but i am wondering if anyone can acccually do it fast enough to race with it. I mean i have been doing it for about a week now for fun, just seeing if i can get good at it, i am getting better but not nearly as quick as just shifting.

Anyone that races double clutch or no??

I'm a total noob when it comes to driving a stick. I don't even know how to double clutch oops.gif  Only been driving a stick for a couple of months now. From what I've been told it doesn't really help in racing, just downshifting. F&F is full of crap.

well from my limited experiance with it......

When u shift from lets say first to second, u put it in neutral, let the clutch out, then put it in second...

as for downshifting, u can down shift without double clutching, i am doing it currently for fun. I am not even sure if i am doing it correctly and if it is even worth my time. it is a bit of a challenge if ur bord of everyday driving...

Obviously you put the clutch back it to put it in gear.

This is how it goes

Changing up
1. Clutch in
2. Change to neutral
3. Clutch out
4. Clutch in
5. Change into gear

Changing down
1. Clutch in
2. Change to neutral
3. Clutch out & rev engine (a quick squirt of the trottle)
4. Clutch in
5. Change into gear

yeah sorry, i thought the putting the clutch back in part was obvious, my mistake...laugh.gif

What about the advantages/disadvantages of it....

*Edit*

I read the link above, makes sense I guess it helps but not worth it when raceing

Default Engine Splutters.. need help... chain of problems

I think the misconception that it helps you in races stems from the start of the Fast & The Furious.

Havent seen it (or the second one for that matter) so I could be wrong.

from what ive learned, this is something that needed to be done w/ older cars that had something to do with getting the syncros lined up correctly...with new cars, its not needed...
