custom vs retail exhuast
It would more than likely be cheaper to have it made locally at a shop. However, most places do crush bend I guess. The retail exhausts are mandrel bent.

Re: Low Idle
Id say purchase a catback, like the OBX or something for around $300, that is if you want mandrel bends.. If you want crushed, w/out stainless, goto an exhaust shop, some will do it for around $100.. You probably wont find a shop that will do a mandrel bent system w/ stainless for $300..

Re: Low Idle
Personally I feel that it would not make THAT much of a difference. My exhaust was done at a local shop, and it turned out great. I don't know what my gains were, but I am more than happy with it.

crushed bends are narrow at the bends, where in a mandrel bend the diameter of the pipe remains the same..... no bottleneck/flow restriction. what is the puprose of a catback if you have crushed bends restricting the overall performane/flow?? and yes catback are usually louder cuz the the diameter is bigger trying to let more exhaust gases out easier, but a good muffler and resonators will help keep things quiet.
