I know this is an old thread but since its been brought back I might as well ask. My cruise recently stoped working. Periodicly it will will for a few minutes then stop. I do have one dead brake light but no LEDs were used. Could this be affecting it'?

NEG on too little voltage draw. Other way around, it actually draws too much voltage! 12V in = 10.8V out in led. 12V in = 12V out in incandescant lights.

... Sorry, you are wrong man. It's too LITTLE draw. Kayjai found it out like 2 years ago when we fixed mine. Same reason when the bulbs are burnt out that your turn signal flashes double time.
