If you or someone you know is in possesion of one of these things, why don't you try and install it?</div>Jaws021 is the "owner" of these items...but they happen to be in my garage. Hey...isn't possession 9/10's of the Law?
Maybe I should sell them off! *evil grin*
We have already test fitted the Old IM to the new motor and the new IM to the new motor. They do "fit". However the gaskets are of a slightly different design (keep the gasket with the IM). The Idle Air Bypass unit is going to be the "problem". Somehow getting the wiring on the "old" beta to match up to the "new" beta's Idle Air Bypass, and once we get the wireing to work...will the ECU recongize it and be able to use it!!!

the manifold itself is larger, and it has a very differnt plenum design.
To be honest, I'm not sure if the design is "better" or not. The "port" design on the IM IS MUCH better, but it almost looks like it has 2 plenums. I'd need to cut one open to be sure, and I don't think Jaws021 would like that much...
It should see the same benefits of a larger TB and IM opening, probably better. With the MAF engines, part of the restriction is the MAF itself.

Two plenums? Not sure what you mean there, could you expound a bit? I can't check out the manifold afterall, the motor was a 2001 Tiburon, not an Elantra. They're still looking for me...

I have seen an elantra with plenum that was 2, and upper and lower, but it does not look like the IM you guys have. It looks like they took 2 plenum from a 2nd gen tiburon and welded them together and gave it shorter runners to the ports.
A hyundai tech told me they did it to cut down on engine noise.
