how many miles on your clutch?

BTW.. if he can smoke it doing a standing stop from second.. do not worry. Mine did that when new (accidently did it once) and it now has 116,000 miles on it.

you shoudl be fine. Our clutches are weird. and adjustable...i think (never have on mine). wink1.gif

Trust me, you'll know when you need a new clutch. Like your car will not engage and it really really sucks to try and pass a semi on the freeway downshifting to 4th because your engine revs and your wheels do not spin. 02.gif

I've had something similar. I was accelerating pretty hard (with a car before the Tib) and shited into second. My engines revs were at like 5400 RPM's, and i was basically cruising off the speed i got from first. No acceleration at all. It must of looked hilarious from outside.

D, some people like to put the car in a higher gear and try and accelerate from a stop to check the clutch. Personally, I do not recommend this proceedure as it will shorten the life of the clutch. I am just saying I once did it by accident and you could smell the carbon on the clutch burning in the car... but that was 100,000 miles ago and it is still going good..

I've always heard something similar to that, accelerating from like 25mph in say 4th gear, and checking the revs to make sure it doesn't shoot up too fast.
