I noticed that i have a fuse in the car alarm part of the fuse box. How do i know if i have one? I work at a tire and lube shop and did an oil change on a 01 elantra and it had the alarm key fob and i didnt get one with my car.

prolly for the keyless entry if you have one. check my many many mods thread and you will see i ripped out 2 black boxes. one was for my keyless entry, the other one was for a shitty alarm that wasnt hooked up correctly.

no tiburon comes from the factory with an alarm. it's a dealer add on. you'll need to check under the dash on the fuse box side. check for any boxes that look stuffed or zip-tied in there.

^ Odd. Whenever you look at specs for the Coupe, they always say that central locking & alarm come standard.
Actually, come to think of it, that may just be for the FX. Is yours an SX, maybe?

^^^^ mines got all the stuff for the fx model except for the power antenna. Is there a way of finding out without ripping apart the dash (its cold in iowa)? Maybe i could find the speaker for the alarm somewhere? And if i did find an alarm there, how could i go about getting the key fob for it?

they usually use the horn from the dealership.
Look under the dash mang! you don't need to tear anything apart. lay on your seat upside down.
