I've recently switched from always getting Sunoco gas to BP. I did this because I noticed that when I got high test (93) from BP I would get way better gas milage than high test (93) from Sunoco. After looking around a bit I found that BP Ultimate (93) is oxadized and I dont think any other stations around here sell oxidized gas. Does it make sense that the MPG increased? Anyone know why it did it (becides because the gas is oxadized, I mean specific reasons)?

Is the Premium BP Grade the only one that's oxidized? I've noticed that Shell claims that their premium fuel cleans the fuel system. BP aparantly is better for gas mileage.
I usually fill up the cheapest gas I can find. I was told that Octane makes no difference to a car designed to run on 87 Oct?

Yes only the premium is. The whole octane thing is more of a personal preference I think. My MPG is different enough between 89 and 93 at both Sunoco and BP to be able to justify the higher price. I had just noticed that high test (93) at BP comared to the same octane at Sunoco I got 3-5 MPG more at BP.

at $2.80 a gallon for premium at a BP station i would rather take a little worse gas mileage and only pay $2.30 at a Getty station
