i know my intake sux.. lol filter, MAF, 12" pipe, turbo... and i need to fix that, prob even more now..
anyway im driving right.. having hella fun boosting and stuff.. so neways i hear this pop, and i thought it might be IC pipe or something, so i look at wideband.. rich as a pig.. lol.. neway, i sat in parking lot idling and it says RICH not 10:1 not 9:1 but rich lol... and idling like crap of course.. sound like a bad MAF.. also when i got home i hooked up laptop and i was getting idle MAF volts of like 2.05v at 900 rpm and i usually get under 1v.. when i revved her up, the MAF voltage didnt really increase or decrease just kinds flopped around 2-3ish...
does that sound like a bad MAF, from combo of the bad intake setup and 8psi?? thanx guys

this is the downside to keeping the stock ecu. even if you find a way to get the proper amount of fuel added, i dont think that the MAF can physically put up with the abuse.
did you take it out and look at it?

your right ham, i blew off a coupler.. it was one i couldnt really see at night, but this morn, i saw this...
lolzzz. i think i forgot to double check how tight that coupler was and it just gave out on me.. i got some t style hose clamps now so they shouldnt be coming off again..
man this b**** is fun as hell to drive..

You need to weld rings at the very end of all your pipes, if you don't have them right now. They will physically prevent the clamp from sliding over the end of the pipe. A t-style clamp will help, but it won't "fix" the problem. So have rings welded.

Wrong. The MAF is actually pretty strong; it's robutness is not a limiting factor. Some guys here even run the MAF after the turbo (ie, in boost); it works just fine, and that way you do not need a recirculating BOV (if you put the MAF after the BOV).

glad to know, cause ive heard a bunch of times that putting a cone filter right on the end of the maf would ruin it, as well as cutting out the honeycomb mesh. if it cant handle the stock airload with one of those two things done, i wouldnt think it could handle any amounts of high boost. i guess those were just myths.
