What is the latest info on cams (non OEM) for the beta 2 engine? Is RPW the only option? If our engines run so rich at high rpm do we need to have an AFC controller? If so how much do they run also? Will a header be a necessary upgrade at the same time? I believe shark has these for the beta 2 if the answer is yes. Hopefully we can put together some good info here.

You can also get the elentra GT cam and I don't think you need headers before a cam but the 2 together would be alot better.
Sorry are you talking about the V6?

This is for the 01-02 elantra and 03 Tib 4cyl. And my car already has the GT cam. All but the early production 01 Elantra GLS or GT have the good GT cam in them already.

try VisionImports.com, I'm planning on getting their Stage 2 Cams, they claim no loss in driveability with about 20-25hp gain in i4's, 35-40 in v6s. With the cams + Fuel Pressure Regulator w/ PSI Gauge + Replacement Valve Springs + and new Cam gears (2, DOHC), youre looking at $1,000. But I will be doing it...

Jmontigny-
The only company I know of making cams for the Beta2 is RPW. I'm sure ANY of the major cam manufacurers would be happy to custom grind you a set, but at what cost. It wouldn't hurt to find out from Crane and some of the other cam companies if they are interested in making a set for you, and if so how much it would be. Hell, maybe you could even get a group buy going....

Visionimports sells RPW parts. Why would you get them from Vision rather than SR?

Where is the testing at? Do you have plans for trying them in a car? I am starting to think this is the way I am going to go with this car. I am probably going to do good cams underdrive pulley and exhaust work and that will be it for this project as far as the motor goes. If I decide to go turbo I will probably buy a wrx so I can have all wheel drive to fully take advantage of the power.
