You know, I'm wondering, would 2 of those Odyssey PC680 batteries work as a replacement for a Optima Blue top? I want to relocate my battery to the trunk, but 2 of those, one on each side, would be better weight wise.

How would you have to hook those up?

Would the OVERALL weight be lower than the single Optima? Would the performance be comparable?

I dont think the performance will be the same at all. You would most likely be better off with the Optima. Weight wise you would save a little. Do you have any kind of audio system in your car? I know you have the Audiobahns but subs or anything? You would just hook one up to your *fused* wire from the alternator. And then wire the two positives together and ground the negatives.

The PC680 just doesnt have the reserve that the Optimas do. Or even what a regular battery would have.

Adding the Optima to the passenger side of the car in the rear would put a slight dent in the weight difference of having you on the driver's side wouldn't it? So, why not just do that?

Yeah, and with 2 of them together, the reserve should be plenty. I don't play much music or anything without the car running.

You know, after adding in the extra wiring, clamps, and the battery boxes to hold them back there, this will be only 5 to 10 pounds lighter, if that.

I'll just find a battery relocation kit I like and put mine in the rear.

So you would have about an hour more of reserve with the same draw. But if you dont play music a whole lot without the car running or anything like that I think you will be fine.

I suggest you get a NHRA/IHRA approved box if you ever go to the track. They can send you home on tech inspection, if its enclosed you have to run a breather tube to the outside of the car. Depends also on how the track officials follow the rules or lenient on some.

I've found a few nice Billet trays on Ebay, I'll probably do one of those. Nice and light. I don't race, so I'm not really worried about that, the 1/4 mile keeps lookin less and less appealing.

What size of wire?

How long?

Where should I ground the negative wire?
