i am looking to just go n/a because i dont want to mess with the turbo right now because of reliability. what kind of HP is obtainable going n/a and spending around 3 grand. and how much of a difference in 1/4mile time with an auto compared to a manual. thanks a lot.

3 grand is more than enough for a good reliable turbo. A turbo car can be just as reliable as an n/a one.
You're gonna need a lot more than 3 grand to hang with a Mustang GT and it wont be under warranty any more.

Alpine has a good one, but it needs a few upgrades if you want to go really fast. I'd recommend this if you're a car noob and dont want to do any work.
The best way to go is build one yourself. You can do 90% of it yourself. The intercooler piping is the only thing that you need customized.

it will take ALOT to get 220hp and most of it you wouldnt be able to do yourself (high compression pistons, stronger different stroke rods etc...)

^^^Ummm, no. Several people have had 220whp with STOCK internals. There are a few that have gotten 250-280whp and still climbing.
