My alternator decided to go out on my 98 Tiburon the other day. A bearing must be out because I hear a metal grinding type sound coming from it, and voltage is jumping between 9 - 11V when running. I went to a junkyard and picked up a 98 Elantra alternator for $35, because it was listed as interchangeable. Well I got it back to my car at home and although it looks like it might possibly bolt up the same (I'm not sure), there is only one wire harness coming from it, as where there are two on the current Tiburon alternator, one on the right side and one pointing down towards the bottom. It also looks like the belt is larger for the Elantra. Does anyone know if this Elantra alternator will work properly, or what that extra connector is for? Thanks,

~Chainu
