155 Hp Type R Tiburon

How does this Korean spec car get its 155 horses?
Found one post with no real concrete answer. Does anyone have any links/ articles on this model?
I'm interested to see if I can beat that number without going to a shop.
Thanks

new cam..
it has a special cam that places it at 150hp. it is not the beta II gT cam most people thought it was.
I remember someone in the UK digged up the part number. For the same amount of money you can get another more aggresive aftermarket cam.
The f2 coupe had that cam as well.
Korea had the type R, UK got the F2, we got nothing but bad marketing.

Good way to put it Jaws LOL
That blows.
He does have a good point though Screwdriver if you are looking to get that extra HP it was said to be the cam. Thanks for the clarification Jaws. I didn't know that it was a separate item.
And man, you know that it'd be cheaper to get it from a cam specialist shop rather than track one down from a junkyard in the UK or Korea, then ship it, or get one direct from Hyundai (which you prolly can't do anyway)

Hmm....I wonder if that cam can be sourced here and if it requires ECU tuning/ piggyback?
Hopefully not.
There was some talk of a different intake/ exhaust combo that yielded the additional HP.
Its coincidental that I'm in the market for a reliable Cam setup. I was eyeing the 1.8l till I saw this. I know that there are several aftermarket cam options but at this point I'd prefer something that came from the factory.
Any suggestions on how to acquire one would be appreciated. Redz, do you think David can help?

The difference is probably so small the ECU can easily adjust to it. Cams that need ECU tuning are cams that are out of the ECU's ability to adapt to.
As for getting one, that I dunno. Never heard of someone who got their hands on one.

Can't be sourced in the US.
That's for sure.
Post this question up on Kspec.com mang, maybe David can get the cam and ECU that went with it.

the F2 EVO had 154 horsepower. but i'm almost sure that they used the 1.8L cam in the 2.0 F2 EVO as well. the F2 EVO is a different version car. i doubt the cam is an even more agressive cam that would produce 15 horsepower off the bat like that...
