I am running with the Hot Wheels hood.
no pins so far and no issues....even at high speeds.
I do plan to install some hood pins for the next Auto-X season....just in case.

Most of the Carbon Hoods out there are cosmetic. They have a fiberglass skeleton and a sheet or two of carbon fiber on top for the look. However, because they're lighter, you'll see the wind catching it and trying to pull it up and you'll see a lot of flexing (easier to see when riding in a car next to you rather than from the driver's seat). IMO, I've used and sell VIS, carbon creations, and Seibon. For me...all the brands are pretty close to equal. I like the Carbon Creations more because I clear coat any CF hood I install even though they tell me it has a UV coating. Carbon Creations leaves the least amount of "fish eyes".

If I had to guess why, it would be because thet ARK hoods have scoops so air can catch it, where as the VIS have vents, there is no force really acting to lift the hood up, and it the pressure on top is higher than below the hood, I would venture to guess the VIS is actually being pulled down a bit? Unless the fitment is off and the front of the hood is able to catch some air.
