Someone said at work that analysts are saying that withing a year, it will be upwards of $10 a gallon. I dont believe it. I think if it ever got to half that amount ($5), people would be demanding the government to step in and do something. People are pretty pissed now that its close to $4. Add another dollar to that, and watch people really start to rage!

I'll be doing my best to work at our location 12 miles from my house, opposed to my normal office which is 34 miles.

24 miles/day > 68 miles/day

I bet a lot of companies will try to go to 4-day work weeks. Some of our companies did a year ago during the gas shortage we had in TN.

I just might wait on tuning my car for 93 octane...

LOL @ analyst predictions. An average analyst these days is hardly worth his salt. Look at a graph with an increasing trend and extrapolate it into the future until it reaches headline proportion, then report it with all caps and a few exclamation points. Never consider underlying causes or possibility of temporary nature of your trend.

This goes double for economics analysts. Maybe triple.

ill ride my motorcycle more this summer and i'll be looking for a more fuel efficent one here shortly when i can afford. the tib gets around 26-28mpgs and its 2.0l my R1 gets about 28-30 and its 1.0L; i'm thinking about getting smaller bike/scooter so i can get about 60-75mpgs. and i dont understand why more people arent buying bikes to save on gas? if its not raining or cold ride the motorcycle and save the money.

Maybe because a 500lbs bike/rider set at 70MPH is suicide on the same road as a sleepy trucker at the wheel of 80,000+lbs?

When I left for work this morning gas at our local BP was $3.09/gal, by the time I got home from work it was 3.25 and when I drove by this evening it was 3.38
