What are the top 3 dumbest things you heard someone say about cars
Not Hyundai's, but cars in general? Mine are (in no order)
1. Colder spark plugs will give you alot more HP
2. Rear wings on a FWD car will make it more aerodynamic
3. When VTEC kicks in, its like having nitrous

2. Rear wings on a FWD car will make it more aerodynamic
It reduces drag on the highway and allows for less fuel consumption. It minimally makes it more aerodynamic, but not enough to be proud of. In racing, it does make a difference though. I know in F1 the slightest creases can shave off seconds to tenths and F1 is not all quick like people think, there are slow tracks and slow corners.
I haven't heard anything stupid really. I guess it has more to do with the people you are surrounded by.

1. adding xxx performance mod will give it more power AND more fuel economy!!
2. putting a cold air intake on this honda will give it at least 100hp more (someone honestly said this to me)
3. filling up when its colder gets more gas in your tank for the same money! i read it in an email!!
yeah i seem to hear lots of fuel economy garbage

...I don't know, I don't even catalogue these things. Its mainly just unrealistic goals/claims spewed forth by people who are new to cars. Other than that, I've had police officers claiming to be 'police mechanics', scrutineers throwing out double standards between domestics and imports, and general discrimination/misinformation from non-car people like current affairs programs. Yuck.

Parking lot of canadian tire ( department store that sells random bits): I'm outside doing dunno what and superkoolguy comes over to see what I'm doing..." hey man thats a sick turbo!" my reaction : no bud thats a cone filter..."yea but it's attached to a turbo duh"
Another good one said indirectly but ment for me to hear " Did you hear his car? He is pushing that turbo hard, it's gonna blow up soon!"...
Why this is funny, at the time I had i/h/e and havn't done much since lol
