Tuscani info...
Okay, I have in my hands right now, a dealer catalog for the Tuscani. I'll list a few points which I think are interesting, and then anyone who wants more or new info, can post. I'll post whatever I know.
1. The drag coefficient is 0.342. According to the catalog, this is compared with the Celica(0.403), Eclipse(0.353), and Cougar(0.345).
2. The size compared with the Tib has increased by 55mm(length), 30mm(width), 15mm(height), and 55mm(wheelbase).
3. Interiorwise, you find three gauges in the center dash, the torque-meter, mileage meter, and voltmeter.
4. Metal door sills are standard on the 2.7 Elisa.
5. The sound system consists of head unit by Harmon Kardon and JBL speakers. In addition, there is an external amp, 360 watts, 8 channels. Finally, for the optional 8-disc CD changer, it is built-in to the interior. From the pic, it looks like the rear seat outer armrest, but I don't see how they could fit a CD changer in there...
6. The outer mirrors are auto-folding, like the XG's, and have heating coils built-in.
7. Auto sunroof is the same system as the current setup(tilt-up and slide out) but it looks like the cover is glass, not steel.
8. The wipers automatically adjust their speed according to the car speed.(optional on Elisa).
9. Gear Ratios - 1st 3.153, 2nd 1.944, 3rd 1.333, 4th 1.055, 5th 0.857, 6th 0.704, FGR 4.428
10. Compared to the Tib, the gear stroke has been shortened 38mm and the height has been lowered 26mm.
11. Wheels/Tires - 2.7 Elisa 215/45R17Y Michelin Pilots Sport tires on 5 spoke 7.0JX17inch rims. The tires are Y rated tires, rated for up to 300 km/h(about 180mph)
12. The 2.0 liter GTS and GT get 15inch ventilated discs in front, 14inch discs in the rear, plus steel calipers. The 2.7 liter Elisa gets the same discs, plus larger aluminum calipers, painted red, with Hyundai logo printed, in the front and the regular steel calipers in the rear.
13. The 2.7 Elisa gets both front airbags, plus side impact airbags.
14. Power figures, compared to competitors
Tuscani
Horsepower 175/6000 (ps/rpm)
Torque 25.0/4000 (kg.m/rpm)
Tiburon
Horsepower 138/6000 (ps/rpm)
Torque 18.4/4000 (kg.m/rpm)
Toyota Celica
Horsepower 190/7600 (ps/rpm)
Torque 18.4/6800 (kg.m/rpm)
Mitsubishi Eclipse

Audi TT

Any questions?

Will those great looking 'Hyundai' calipers fit my tib! (I'm sure lots of other folks are thinking this too!)
Does the brochure give any indication of trim levels? I know the Elisa has a leather option, but what about the GT and the GTS?
Whats the difference between the GT and GTS models.
TIA and thanks for doing this Boogy. smile.gif

There are 3 basic trim levels, the GT, the GTS, and Elisa. The GTS has things like auto folding mirrors, multi-gauge, seat warmers, better audio system, etc. The GT and GTS both have the 2.0 liter engine. The Elisa has the 2.7 liter engine, with 6-speed tranny, 17 inch wheels, TCS, suspension upgrade(Sachs shocks, hard springs and stabilizers), different spoiler, side airbags. For the GT and GTS have the H-matic auto tranny as an option, as well as the sunroof as an option. That's all the options available for the GT and GTS.
For the Elisa, the 6-speed and H-matic are the same price. The ONLY option available is the sunroof. And get this, you can get the car with the 16 inch wheels and without the sunroof, but this is a "minus" option. They lower the price if you get this. I think the 16 inch wheel minus option is cool because you know lots of people will want to upgrade their wheels. Oh, leather is standard with the Elisa. You can get leather with the GTS in a slightly different trim level.

Oh, another cool feature is that from the GTS, you get a built-in cell phone handsfree kit. There is a place to plug in the jack in near the armrest, and there's a button on the center console that you can press to use the car speakers for the cell phone.

Damn..those are some sweet options. I bet more than anything though, the US spec GK's get screwed on alot of them. Just like how things are now with the Tib's. The oversea cars always get all the fun goodies. sad.gif

No, it's not the tachometer... I just used the word torque meter for lack of a better word. It's a gauge that measures torque, what else could it be? Duh! smile.gif
Also, the 1.6 is not available in Korea.
The price of the Elisa, is about US$18500, excluding taxes. This is for a fully loaded car. If you get the 16 inch rims instead of the 17 inch ones, they take off about 600 dollars.
