you're all lucky. sunfires and cavs cut off at 108...even though they're geared to go like 140, the speed governor kicks in at redline in 4th, and our cars cant be chipped. you can either splice into the speedo wire and disable that as you drive, or you can bribe a GM guy to reprogram it for you. (or if you have the money you can buy a $1200 computer that can reprogram everything, fuel maps, etc etc, and get rid of the governor while you're at it). out of my friends, my cars the fastest, but the governor also kicks in the fastest which really sucks on road trips

Hey slipstream, where did you get that front end hood pastic thing on the end of your hood...I guess its called a bugflector or deflector? I never seen them for Hyundais. I d like to get one for my elantra.

 

You can get them from your dealership. Bug deflectors I mean.

 

The 2k's definitely do not have a speed limited. I've had mine over 130, and a friend had his top speed tested on a dyno, and as it banged off the rev limiter in 5th gear, the dyno was reading 143 while his speedo was showing 140.

You'll never hit those speeds on the road though. Our cars don't produce enough hp to propel the car through the air at those speeds.
