Default Simple Fixes That Make A World of Difference

These are the freebies - it costs virtually nothing and can take seconds. It usually involves no or limited tools.

I just adjusted the free play on my Beta Accents clutch. My god. It's like driving a new car. It took all of five minutes. Love driving now!

I replaced my shifter, cables, and bushings with the OEM GK ones. Now THAT makes it feel like a new car. However, this was not a direct swap and required some odd modifications, nor was it free...

A free mod that makes a difference, can't think of much other than a good cleaning inside and out and a tire rotation.

The throttle body coolant bypass is free and can make some difference, but not a lot.

Redline MT-90 isn't free, but it's cheap for the amount that it helps your shifting so I think it qualifies.

Don't know what the stock airbox on American Tibs is like, but on European ones theres a double U-bend, and plenty of restriction, before the main box (on GKs theres even more pipe and an empty airbox) removing all this prob won't gain any power, but it sounds 100 times better, Hyundai did this themselves on the facelifted GK models.

On older clutch slave cylinders theres that mod where you can remove the spring to improve clutching.

On older engine with the steel sump, instead of buying a magnetic sump plug, a magnet attched to the steel sump will do exactly the same job.

Finally, often overlooked, clear out anything you don't need in the car. Cars going to be slower if its filled up with junk.
