We know that Hyundai first came out with the Scoupe turbo and then moved on to the Genesis, Sonata, and Veloster turbos. Do you guys forsee forced induction being a common thing from Hyundai, and we'll eventually see an Elantra and Accent with the turbo option? Or do you think Hyundai will mostly get into the Hybrid area instead?

 

I think it'll be common for Hyundai to turbo a lot of their cars. Probably see a 1.6l turbo in the Elantra. Only way we will see a turbo in the Accent is if it's a 3 cylinder or a really small 4 cylinder. Like 1.3l or below. Maybe a hybrid Accent though. Don't see a lot of point though for the next 5 years.

 

might be a fun toy though. a 1.0L accent with a nice turbo setup....might not go fast, but it'd be interesting to see how it does for fuel economy.

 

Low pressure turbo charging is being used for fuel economy and emissions by leading european manufacturers. I'd expect the tech to filter down eventually.



I can't see them doing many turbo performance models though. It doesn't seem to be a philosophy at hyundai.
