Need part sourcing help
Guys, this should really go in the WANTED forum, but I need a better response that the wanted forum returns.
I am looking for a 12 Volt DC water pump. It needs to move between 5 and 20 gallons of water per minute (30 to 120 gph), and it should be light weight. The more gpm/gph, the better. (but not over 20/120)
If anyone knows where I could source such an item, I could really use some help. I can find 'RV' water pumps or 'marine' water pumps, but most of them are cast iron/heavy metal and weight in around 15 to 50 lbs. I would like to keep it around 5 lbs if I can.
Any help/direction/suggests anyone can provide would be much appreicated.

I think Edelbrock sells aluminum water pumps for cars. May need some mods to work but you should be able to make it work. If you are looking for car use try looking up big racing brand names. Try Summit Racing.
I need to know if this is for your Tib or not.

Iago...i've thought of those...but the DC inverter sorta kills using an aquarium pump. I also need something more vibration resistant. Those power heads are magnet impellers, so they hate vibration.

Random,
Have you ever seen those Alternator/water-pump combos that have been devoleped for the domestic V-8 crowd, drools, those would be trick. Seriously, summit will have all that stuff. You may want to look at the pumps designed for recurculating water to air intercoolers for turbo and s/c applications.

That is exactly what I was looking for but I could not find a damn thing on Summits website. Could you send me a URL or a part number?

An electric water pump is what I want. 12 V DC. This system will be 100% seperate from the main motor other than to draw electricity.
Not an engine water pump to replace the stock water pump.
Spearco does not sell water pumps or have any water pump info on their website...

hmmmm, water pump, electric only, spearco?
I think I see an air/water intercooler in your future . . . or maybe not, I never know smile.gif If you can get them to work right, they kick major ass. Water can remove so much more heat than air with much less loss. The only drawback is system complexity.
If you are upgrading, how much you want for your Alpine one?
