my first 1/4 mile Drag!!
#12
My best run at Albuquerque was a 16.2 at 88 miles per hour while running 15x6.5 alloy rims and generic Sumitomo tires. The car was just bouncing the 3rd revlimiter as I passed the lights, but any subsequent attempts to shift into 4th gear resulted in slower times.
My best run on the 17" Konig alloys and BFG EuroT/A's was 16.4 at around 86...
Edit
If it makes you feel any better, the JRSC'd 2000 Civic Si that I helped put together ran a 17.x on it's first several runs, but at a 90+ trap speed. All that guy needed was practice; my friend Joel got behind the wheel on the same day and pulled a 15.7...

yeah.. definatly work on those 60' times, the clutch dumps are killing you. launch around 2400-2700 (depending on tires) practice practice practive. try to lean out of the clutch, instead of just dumping it real quick.

Yep wheels are a mf and the clutch is another. I spun all the way to third and got a 16.3 at 87 mph. Damn stock tires. It won't happen again. But I am still a rookie. Thats before I was S/C.

It sounds like most people are failing to realize that Albuquerque International Speedway is 5,813 feet above sea level. At this altitude, approximately 17 percent of your horsepower is missing due to the lesser barometric pressure.
So, your 15.5 is approximately comparable to about a 16.6 here at altitude, give or take. My best run outside of Albuquerque was a 14.82 at Wichita speedway in Kansas. Compare my 14.8 run in Wichita with my 16.2 run in Albuquerque and you will start to get the idea...

RED, I was trying to explain that awhile back, that in higher elevations we should have higher times due to air volume/pressure.

The Tiburon isn't going to the track anytime soon; it is needing a lot more time on the streets, the highway and on the dyno rollers before I'm happy with the tuning job on the Haltech.
The Maxima might go, but I doubt a 16-second family sedan is going to be much fun to drive wink
