Jed in Korea, looking to buy a used (really used) car
Hey guys,
I`m currently in Korea for at least 13 more months, and I would like to purchase a car - Preferably an older Sonata or anything with a 4G series as I am very familiar with the repairs and the tool purchase would be minimal on my end.
I walked into an auto parts store here and found out that 4L of oil will set me back about $12, a filter around $2, an outer tie rod $9, pads $25... So, it is enticing for me!
Does anybody know any Korean websites that sell cars? I`ve got access to many Koreans that can translate for me, so any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks!

The infamous Jed has returned - from Korea?!
Sorry man, not familiar with any used car sites. I'll ask around and let you know if I find anything.
Where are you at? Somewhere around Seoul?

Hah, I'm in Daegu Korea right now, trying my hand at teaching - I mostly wanted to get out of IT for a bit, finished U, paid off all my debts (thanks in part to an old car that requires no payments and got loads of job experience in the process... I wanted to travel, plus I wanted to work with kids so I can better interact with them (as I plan on having my own within 2-3 years). So far I have been to Japan with plans to visit Australia.
Its going OK for now, but I neeeeeeed a car to get out of the residence - Plus I've been driving since I was 16, I can't imagine I will last long on buses and KTX trains (despite their speed) so I am looking for something to give me some freedom.
Infamous? Well, as long as SOMEONE remembers me...

I wish, the oldest car I have seen on the road is the Kia Pride (Ford Fiesta) from the mid 90s... Actually I saw a what looked like 1991 Excel sedan yesterday.
I have been told by my Korean friends that Pony was a rare sight 6 years ago, now they're nowhere to be found.
I'm teaching a bunch of 16 year olds, and I had a slide of a Pony up (for introduction) - they heard of one, but never saw one outside a museum.
I has a sad.
