Does anyone know if most insurance companies will still insure you if you have a salvage title on your car? Thinking about picking up a used 2009 Sonata (only 26,000 miles on it) from a collision shop, but it has a salvage title. The front end was destroyed and they were able to repair it. They're only selling it for $6100 and offering a 12 month warranty. I think it would be great for a daily driver but only if I can get decent insurance for it.

 

How is this not a question for your insurance agent?

 

I dont know about other insurance companies but I know Geico wont insure you if you have a salvage title. My buddy was through them and bought a Ford Ranger that was salvaged. Geico refused to insure him even though he had proper documentation that the truck was restored to factory specs.
