gas mileage
I bought a new silver tibby last month.
I have been monitoring my gas mileage & I do alot of highway driving. I've been getting an average of 24mpg. Does that seem low to anyone?????
In addition, I have been thinking of getting a cold air intake. Any suggestions??? Is the weapon-r easy to install????
Thanks

do you have automatic or manual? I don't get the best of mileage either unless a HUGE portion of my driving is on the freeway. I do goto school about 20 miles from here and most of the travel is freeway, but i have to go some distance on streets at the start and finish. that causes my mileage to decrease. other than that, it is ok. best ive gotten total was maybe 29 mpg. I don't mind. I get to have a lot of fun on the streets anyways. Oh, i did also experience better mileage with an intake. i haven't recorded my mileage yet though

If you do a seach on mileage, you will find several posts with information.
To sum some of it up...you need to check your mileage VERY CAREFULLY to get accurate readings.
Write down the odometer setting at a fill up, fill it up all the way.
Then at your next fill up...fill it up all the way. Divide that by the mileage by the amount of gas it takes for the SECOND fill up. Keep doing this for at least 5 tank fulls, and you should have an idea of your average.
Prior to the turbo, I averaged 22 to 24 city driving, and 30 to 35 highway driving.
With the turbo..I started out at 15 MPG...and progressive tuning has gotten me up to 19 MPG...but it still needs loads of work. I still have yet to take the turbo on an extended Highway trip. This fall I should be driving to Minnesota...so that should be a good test.

I know how to calc the mpg, but I figured that I should get at least 29 or something with the automatic and all the highway driving I do.
Thanx

The epa estimates are only 21 mpg / 30 mpg for the autotragic. If you do a combination of city/highway, expect about 25. If you do ALL highway...expect about 30.
