F-tha Police
Listen to this...Ive spent the last 2 days trying to get my damn windshield wiper nozzles to light up and today i finally did. 30 minutes after i got them going im sitting at a redlight just mindin my own business when i see a cop across the street at the local cig shop. Next thing i know is here he comes bookin across 2 lanes of traffic and he's like "hey you cant have those lights on it's ornamental lighting and that's illegal." I couldn't think of anything good to say so i just played dumb and he told me i had to rip them out of there or get them off. So now what should i do. If this cop was willing to run through traffic to tell me this there's probably a pretty good chance ill get pulled over by the next one that see's me. Can any one give me any idea's. I was thinking of wiring them to one of the unused switches on the left side but i need to know where to get a button and how would i wire'em into it. Or if there is anything else i can do to keep the pigs off my back.

What color are the lights? If there red, blue, or green you can get in trouble, BUT in KY (not sure about your state) you can have colored lights if they are inside the width of your headlight beams, or they don't flash. Also, it might have just been the cop. I've gotten pulled over for my mirror tint before, but it was by the same cop all the time. Good luck

Yeah they are blue...the cop told me it was illegal to have any ornamental lighting no matter what color. I assume that means any type of decorative lighting such as neons, nozzles lights, i wonder if that includes certain colored foglights???

I'm sorry dude, but being what my profession is... It is your fault for putting something on your car like that so why the fuk is he a pig. It is people like you that piss me off for saying **** like that. Just because you were ignorant of the laws makes an officer a pig.
Okay, now that thats out of the way, I would suggest that you do what HyundaiJVX said, hook them up to your turn signals. If that is not really an option then put a simple toggle switch on them and only turn them on when you are parked then it should be legal. wink.gif

OK I am back a little bit and after I read this I thought I would respond. THis may sound HARSH. First off FQ that cop and FQ what other people are gonna tell you about the situation. WHos to say the cop knew what the hell he was spewing out of his mouth to begin with and since most of the people here probably don't live where you do the laws may be different so any advice they give can possibly get you into trouble even tho they are giving it to you in their best intents. BUT second, this SHOULD absolutely make you dig into the laws concerning these things for your area. This will make you a smarter person so if the cop was lying( which happens ) or if he just "thought" that there was a law concerning these things you will know yourself for sure and will know what to do about this in the future. Get the law straight from the horses mouth not a cop or anyone else because sometimes even the cops are wrong and trust me I have had enough of them tell me straight up bull**** to know otherwise. LIke G.I.Joe said .... "knowing is half the battle."

Yeah, my friends dad is a cop and he said if he saw someone with them on all the time he might stop them and just give them the heads up that some other cops might ticket them, but he said no one would really care about them blinking with blinkers. Just a passing it on to you.

I just got pulled over the other day in Delaware by a state cop for my lights. BUt she pulled me over cause my parking/turn signals are blue, not for my blue washer nozzle light things. In DE, she said, that you can't use any colour that the police or emergency vehicles use. Therefore, the use of purple, green, yellow, pink or any other colour except red, blue and white is legal. But thats in DE.....I haven't gotten pulled over in PA yet, but Philly cops probably have more to worry about than my blue light special.

I have the blue washer lights and blue fog lights and I've been followed twice in the last week at night but I haven't been pulled over yet. I have my washer lights hooked to my fog light switch so if a cop complains I can just shut them all off, hopefully that will make them happy and I won't get a ticket
