Default Dyno question

When you're at the dyno...could you gain anything more if you took off your air filter completely? You're not goin anywhere so dirt/crap couldn't get in the intake manifold...

Well, no restriction for the air flow going in....

Wont that help at all? anyone tried?

Still not worth it IMO. What if it sucks in a chunk of something loose in the engine bay? Even on the off chance that a bug would fly in I wouldn't risk it. Especially to just get another horsepower or two.

I can see that stock vs. stock with no air filter in place. You can get most of that gain with a good air filter and a cold air intake though also I would think. But, even if it was 10hp more unless a fair amount of money was involved I would not do it myself.
