ok heres my question......
i have never draged raced....but i am really getting into it...and i want to know what all i could do to my tibby to get good times in the 1/8 and the 1/4....and how would i start off (I have an automatic).....do i put it in second....do i have the o/d button on or off?
and i might be putting nitros on my car. just for drag racing......... and where/ what web site can i get em from and what companys.......and if i do put nitros on my car once again when should i use it(what rps) and should the overdrive button be on or off when i use nitrous?
ok just asking questions?

I would Reccomend the Zex kit, as most of the Hyundai People seem to have their kit, thus there is a large knowledge base for you to ask questions from.
Second...I would not go larger than 65 shot. That is just under 50% of your HP rating.
Good Tires and Light Weight Wheels. Enki RP01's are the most affordable lightweight wheel out there. Just get 2 and have street legal drag radials mounted on them. They alone should shave .5 to 1 Second off your time vs stock crappy Tires/wheels.
Third. Practice your reaction times. a .4xx will beat a faster car who pulls a .6xx. I've seen some reaction times that were 1.2 seconds or longer. A Yugo could beat you with that R/T.
Practice controling traction with your left foot. If you back off of the throttle completely...you might as well give up. Learn to modulate the throttle to keep the car moving but tire spin at a minimum.
If you go with Nitrous, make sure you install an RPM dependant switch that will not kick in the giggle gas any lower than 3200 RPM. Unless you really don't like your stock auto tranny. The Torque converter will not lock up fully untill 2800 RPM. That gives you 400 RPM of breathing room to find grip for those front wheels before the HP boost from the giggle gas.
Practice, practice, practice. Most people seem to favor dropping the tranny to "1", and putting their left foot on the brake, then reving the engine to 2500 (as high as it will go with your foot on the brake), you then just practice letting your left foot off the break. Not as easy as it sounds...remember...it's your LEFT foot on the break.
Some guys also stage with the E-Brake rather than the pedal brake...but to me...my right hand is on the shifter...not the e-brake, experiment....see which works best for you.
Mark off a 1/4 mile in a deserted parking lot one night, or on a deserted strech of road. Have a buddy signal you from 1/4 mile away to practice your RT...and have him time you with a stop watch, so you can see improvments in your methodology turn into lower 1/4 mile times.
If the CRX is stock, auto tranny, and NOT an SI, you should be able to take it. The 240 SX will be a challenge, no matter what drive train he has.
With Nitrous...you should hand both of them their asses.

I dump the clutch and floor it when the last light goes out, but i have a 5speed and I stin my wheels like crazy (mother ****ing hankook peices of **** ). I have to say with the auto, floor it when the lights go out. I'm not sure because i've never raced or regularly driven an autotragic. Oh yeah, don't forget about venom NOS systems (i don't know the website address).
