Default Do your reading if you want to learn more about performance...

"Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell,
"Turbochargers" by Hugh McInnes,
"Modern Engine Tuning" A. Graham Bell (covers a lot of the basics/fundamentals)
"How to Build Horsepower" by David Vizard (covers a lot of the basics/fundamentals)
"Chassis Engineering" by Herb Adams
"How to make your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn (a tad dated, but good fundamentals for autocrossers and racers)

If you are thinking of Cam replacement...invest $15 in this book
"How to choose CAMSHAFTS and time the for Maximum Power" by Des Hammill

For about $100, You will gain more knowledge from these books than 5 years of reading the Forums.

Needless to say...skip the turbocharger books if you are not interested in Turbos/Superchargers. The Hugh MacInnes book also applies to Superchargers more than the Corkey Bell book. There is another supercharger book coming out, I'll post the info when I get it.

I use these books to read durring "down time" and when I want to relax. Most of them you can read for 5 minutes at a time...giving yourself a chance to digest the knowledge before you read on. I really don't reccomend you read them cover to cover in one sitting. You'll be lost by the 3rd chapter. Pace yourself, and you WILL learn.

Most of them are written for the Layman. They are a piece of CAKE compared to the Factory Service manuals...

Random, you are 'the man'. Looks like I'm gonna have to get myself some books now. Once again, thank you so much for the help. Someday, brother....someday, I'll have a basic running knowledge of cars. LOL. Later.

I second the motion on Maximum Boost and Turbochargers. Both are excellent reads. I'm still wading through all that information.
