If a company sells you something and claims that its original and not knock off, and something bad happens to your car because the shady worksmanship and bad quality...can you go back and sue that business for false pretenses and selling something that was not what they advertised?

Seems logical to me. If they advertised Part A and knowingly sent you Part B with intent to defraud, and that part caused damage then yes - I think you have a case. You anticipated the quality from Part A and were not provided with that part.

You could. But good luck getting anywhere with it. Even if you win it would be unlikely that you would collect anything from them.

I shudder to think just how hard it would be to sue somebody from eBay. Its a risk you take.
