Always wondered which is better for cooling an engine or which would have better performance....installing a functional hood scoop or getting a hood that has vents in it, like some CF hoods have.

Hood scoops have air rushing in from the top of the engine, where as vents would have air rushing in from the bottom through the bumper and going out the top of the hood.

I would say a hood scoop for sure. smile.gif Problem though is most hood scoops look really bad and pretty ricey on our cars.

my hood is gapped and most of the hot air rushes out of the back of the hood (side by the windshield) and just goes over the car. the gap allows the air rushing in from the grill to pass over the top of the engine and out over the windshield. and the minimal gap i have is very unnoticeable and not ricey at all.
