What I said in the Shoutbox is that that blury picture DOES say SPEC on it. I see it even though it's blurry. The XTD sticker is the same shape, and I think size, as the spec sticker.
I'm trying to do some research on them in the background, but it seems everyone under 250 WHP is happy with them, and everyone over it hates them with a passion.

SFI = You will be allowed to race on a "real" track with it, because it won't blow up and kill you (or at least, not as much as stock).
The adapter is for the crank mounting flange diameter/depth difference. Hyundai started cutting the flanges with a narrower and longer protrusion poking out the end (the material was machined away, not added; the flange is thinner and the nose pokes out more). The adapter allows a flywheel cut for the old style (bigger) crankshaft to fit the newer (smaller) cranks as well.
A diameter, C thickness & D bolt hole depth are reduced, B thickness is increased.
The adapter is still available from Hyundai for $24.50, and this is the image & part number from the TSB that lists compatibility for cranks, bolts, flywheels, and flexplates

Stocker, thank you for all that information. Do you have any information on the certification process? What keeps me from taking a Yugo flywheel and slapping a spec 1.5 sticker on it?

Nothing, I guess.
Hell in China they make straight-up counterfeit stuff and ship it & sell it here as genuine.
Okay, maybe your honor would stop you, but who cares about THAT anymore offtopic.gif
I didn't say they had a legit SFI cert for that flywheel, lightened that way, with that adapter.

I will note for everyone, that's the same adapter plate my VHR kit came with, it's on my car now for 1.5 months, with no issues at all. Car runs great.

I got this information from SFI corp. Basically the SFI cert is for drag racing. It ensures that the parts are safe. All sanctioning bodies require certifications at certain intervals such as after a year or two the parts have to be sent back in
The gentleman I spoke with at SFI Corp said they require a new certification for each new model. Changes to structure, material, or increases in sizes require new certifications. They may make a smaller flywheel based on the same material and structure without recertifying the new model of flywheel.
They cut a dog-bone out of the flywheel, then they perform tests on it
The AutoCom XTD flywheel passed all certification tests.

Chrome Moly Flywheel
These are the qualificaitons and actual values for the 1.5 certification
min: 40,000 PSI yeild. actual: 60,000 PSI yeild. = strength at which the material starts stretching
min: 60,000 PSI Tinsel. actual: 110,000 PSI Tinsel. = Strength at which the material breaks
Min Yeild: 10% Actual Yeild: 19% = How much the material stretched before it breaks.
The gentleman I spoke to said these are outstanding figures. Much higher then some of the tests they conduct.
