I got my 11lb XTD Chrom-Moly Flywheel in today..... I was glad it finally made it here but look at it...

It has spots of rust on it.... WTF? Should I be worried about this? or can I just buff it out with steel wool? or do I just leave it? I don't know much about flywheels but I would assume the contact surface should be clean...

Don't worry about it, flywheels will always rust, Park you car and don't drive it for a week then pull the flywheel out and it will be covered in rust, that rust on the friction surface will be gone in the first five minutes of driving.

Really? That's good to know. I was kinda worried. It looks like the rust could have pitted those spots....
