Apparently this is a bolt on replacement for the Tiburon.

I know it looks a bit silly, but anyone seen this before?
Know the cost?
Know the purpose?

I've e-mailed them and asked but I'm still waiting for a reply and I don't know if they speak english. Can SR get us these or any other korean mufflers?

Racus? Did you mean Arcus? The arc-shaped whitish deposit sometimes seen in the cornea?

It looks like by revolving the air back through the muffler it might help push the air out faster, but that doesn't really make sense.

Maybe someone has realized the true, super, hulk like potential of our motors, that they realized that we need to keep more backpressure throughout... tongue.gif

backpressure doesn't create horsepower... and not haveing it will not make u loose hp. its the big diameter of pipeing used that lets exhaust gases get cold and stagnant. just get a normal glasspack and smaller diameter mandrel-bent pipeing. 2.5 is too big with a wide open muffler. unless u like 2.5+ pipeing with that thing on the end..

read the essay on exhausts on brendans elantra site..verrry informative and enlightening

It is basically a straight through muffler. Since the muffler does such a crappy job at dampening out the sound, then run the exhaust gases through it twice. Some of the exhaust gas from the first pass is allowed out, but the majority of it routes around the second time and finally out.

They are just a phunky way to double the size of the muffler by running the exhaust gas through it twice.

A lousy way in my opinion...but some people like them.
