hey guys, i was looking some page where some guy install a NoS system in a AUTOMATIC Ford Focus ( 2.0 Zetec engine ) and he said that his best run was 16.90 with only CAI in BBTB ( 65mm ).

well, in his note he also said that he "I power-braked the engine at 2,500 rpm and let it rip when the light turned green". so..............

I thought!.. what could be the damage to do this in the car? or there is no damage?

do you think that a stock auto tiburon could be beat a auto focus 2.0 zetec?

so, this gives me the idea to try this in the track, but i also think that 2500 rpms with the brake pedal press is a little too much for the tranny, what do you think about this?

What is the worst thing to do in the auto tranny...

1. power-braked until 2000-2500 rpms and let it rip with the green light?

2. give it some gas at nuetral and drop to D in the green light?

3. or both are bad to tranny?

what do you say?

im gonna go with both are bad for the tranny but #2 more so than #1

Power braking does not damage to the transmission severly.... it'll put more wear on your brakes, but its not harmful to the tranny. Neutral dropping, on the other hand, is bad. Very bad.

Well, when your running a 10-second or lower car, an auto tranny is bettter in most instances.

so the worst that could happen is more wear down to the tranny with the #1...?

and could I beat a auto focus driving that way?

Powerbraking is not "bad" for the transmission, but it does heat the tranny fluid quickly. Hot tranny fluid will Kill a transmission. I would reccomend you install a tranny fluid temp gauge, and, if needed, install a tranny fluid cooler to augment the cooler built into the bottom of the radiator. If the added tranny cooler still doesn't cut it, add a fan to the tranny cooler.

What you should do to properly power brake is the following.
#1. Apply brake fully.
#2. Step on gas pedal to about half throttle. RPMS will rise to a set point then stop.
#3. Back off gas pedal slowly until RPMS drop, then get back on gas just enough to keep RPM at the peak.
#4. When last amber light goes off lift off brake pedal and increase gas pedal at same time (don't floor it, as you want to maintain traction).

Some folks claim shifting manually offers faster times than letting the autotranny shift for itself, Personally, I haven't seen that much of a difference between the 2, as most peoples runs aren't consistent enough to PROVE that manually shifting the auto-tranny is faster.

Your Second senario is a Neutural drop. That is VERY BAD for an automatic transmission.

About your comment on whether or not a Tiburon will be a Focus. I guess it mainly depends on what Focus it is. Is it a SVT Focus? Probably not. Is it just plain-jane Focus? Yes.
Also, what shot was that Foucs running? I'm gonna guess it was only a 30 shot...I mean, with a 16.9 in the 1/4...

I run nitrous with my auto trans, 55 shot got me a 15.2 at 96mph. that was just flooring it at the line(lots of wheel spin) my mph is that of a car that should be running mid to low 14 sec times....I also tryed a 65 and 75 shot and still ran a 15.2 with a simmaler mph. I NEED SLICKS


DO NOT DO A NUTRAL DROP its very bad

my car without nitrous runs 16.4 to a 16.8 it varrys

also turn od off and switch the power buton on
