and yea the hop is prettty much from 3000 to 4000 then its grips and than i have to shift,

so much hop that the radar detector vibrated off the windsheild and bounced off the dash right into my lap, lol

thanks loneshark smile.gif I just wasnt really sure of the consiquences with the lighter flywheel, i knew the engine would rev faster, but i didnt think that rpms would drop faster as well, and didnt think that shifting technique would have to be different smile.gif

OK... JonGTR mention that he didn't feel any gains of HP.... so I get lost in this part...

So Why should I have to change my Flywheell?? does the car will get to the desire speed faster because of the quicker REVS ????

I talk to a guy in my country that have an BMW M3.. He was runing in 14-14.999 seconds category in the quarter mile competition here in my country, but after he change the Flywheel, he have to run into 15-16 seconds because the car Revs to quikcly and his time get worst.... He sell that FLYWHEEL as soon as the competition finish....

What happen??? maybe he doesn't know how to race with the new flywheel??? or is a True story about installing a Flywheel???

You don't have to change your flywheel.

Who said you did?

If you do, you will get gains, your engine isn't having to turn as much metal. It's not tons, but it's still gains. Not all gains are noticable.

Most of the folks I know with Lightweight Flywheels don't shift the same as you and me, they speed shift, you know, keep throttle going while the clutch is in?

You mean that "speed shift" is when you shift and still holding down the accelerator?? I do that only when I'm racing with another car (it can damage the clutch and transmission)....

But It's incredible because you dont loose like +/- 1200 rpm when you normal shifting...

the flywheel is good for anyone that wants more performance out of their car, but the downside to a lightened flywheel is that revs will drop faster (meaning you could fall out of powerband RPM's when shifting) .... sort of like a catback .... a catback is good for anyone that wants more top end horsepower, consequently you lose low end torque (amount of loss depends on diameter of piping) ....

overall a lightened flywheel is a good mod (in my opinion), but its like learning to drive a new car also

I usually shift really fast, everyone says that im about to brake my shifter every time i shift.....

Well, it's not about how fast you shift, it's keeping the RPM's up while shifting.

And TiburonWao, it's a Heavy Duty 350 HP clutch, I don't think it's gonna hurt much.
