I just had my engine shipped to me about a week ago.
So i was taking off the timing case and noticed that there was something loose in there....

what is it, how can i fix it, what should i do? obviously, it wasn't me who broke it, since it is rusted, iron cant rust that fast. especially with no moisture in the air here in las vegas.

fairly certain that's the bracket for the side engine mount. looks like its actually part of the block eh? no clue how that would be fixed, or if its even possible.

i would throw a shit fit with whoever sent me that.

do you guys think it would be welded, and if so, would it be sturdy enough to hald the weight of the engine + all the torque when i drop that turbo in there?

the think with sending it back is that it wouldnt be cost effective for me, it would cost me $250 to send it back as shipping is not covered under the warranty

It could be welded but not worht the hassle. TIG welded only and even then i wouldn't trust it being a motor mount that receives constant twisting motion.

alright guys, i called the place and they said they'd ship me another motor at no cost to me and pick up the old one (probably to resell it lol), it sounded to me like he said that they had this same motor sent back before, so idk why they would try and resell it... well they said they'd check out this new motor really good because they don't want to send me another engine free lol.

the guys at another hyundai forums said that thats just bolted on behind the bottom part of the timing case so it is infact not casted with the block.
